Monthly Meetings
SPIA noon hour meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of the month except for July, August and December, with members from Estevan, Regina and Saskatoon participating. The meeting date and agenda is confirmed by email one week prior to the meeting.
Our next meeting will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026. West World Paper will be making a timely presentation on their paper products which will fill in the void on some of the paper lines Imperial Dade carried and which will no longer be available after March 31. Jordan Young, the General Manager of their Calgary office has agreed to talk about their products.
Saskatoon printers will meet at noon at Mister Print and Regina printers at PrintWest. If unable to attend in person, contact martin@spia.ca for the Teams login.
CANADA POST
The recent job action by CUPW of halting the delivery of unaddressed flyers, also known as Neighbourhood Mail, seriously impacts the printing industry as well as the businesses that rely on this service. The Government Affairs Committee of the Canadian Printing Industries Association has responded to the Canada Post and CUPW impasse with the attached document. This was released prior to job action announcement by CUPW and the strike on September 25.
